You may not be familiar with World Environment Day. Here’s a little info:

World Environment Day was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972 to mark the opening of the Stockholm Conference onthe Human Environment.  Another resolution, adopted by the General Assembly the same day, led to the creation of UNEP. It is hosted everyyear by a different city and commemorated with an international exposition through the week of June 5.

Activities include street rallies and parades, as well as concerts, treeplanting, and clean-up campaigns. In many countries, this annual event is used to enhance political attention and action towards improving the environment. This observance also provides an opportunity to sign or
ratify international environmental conventions.

I bet you didn’t know there was a World Water Day. It happens March 22.

In 1992, the United Nations General Assembly declared March 22nd of each year World Water Day. The resolution grew out of the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro, and nations are invited to celebrate the day each year by implementing UN recommendations and hosting activities that relate to fresh water resources. This year’s theme is “Communicating Water Quality Challenges and Opportunities.”
It is still a reality that an estimated 1.1 billion people rely on unsafe drinking-water sources. The theme of World Water Day 2010 focuses raising awareness of water quality.
The new items we are working on for our Water Category will be focusing on Water Quality as well. Here’s one example of a poster:

Standard posters are 12″ x 18″, but we can convert to any size you need. Banner material with grommets also available.
